     "Just Perfect!" 2010-09-08

The ST670P I received had a manufactured date of January 2010.

I want to thank everyone who commented on this. You all really helped me get this great wall mount!

It has a ratcheting adjustment tension handle so you can adjust it once it's against the wall. I set mine as loose as it would go then put it on the wall. The adjustment was very easy. I then tightend up the tension using the ratcheting handle.

My comments about other comments are as follows:

    [D. Spain "Philoguy"]

Can't loosen adjusting knob when it's against the wall. [Mine] has a ratcheting handle to adjust tilt tension.

    [Flyboy2610] and [UBHappy]

Loosen Allen head screw to adjust. [Mine] and [Talent Relations "TR"] was hard to adjust when not on the wall. [L. Block] and I used a screw driver as a prybar to get a feel for the adjustment (with tension set on very loose).

    [Flyboy2610]

The security screws are difficult to reach. I had the same problem, but with a 2 foot phillips screw driver and a flash light it went smoothly.

    [Talent Relations "TR"]

Make the knobs circular. [Mine] has a ratcheting knob. You pull out on it to release and push in to adjust.

    [D. Wooten]

Directions are almost useless. [Mine] I had to read and re-read but in the end I was able to follow them.

    [1gringoframLA]

Handles prevent adjustment. [Mine] has a ratcheting knob. You pull out on it to release and push in to adjust.

Removed bottom pin. (Removing this pin will decrease tilt range and modify weight it can support) [Mine] and [Talent Relations "TR"] was hard to adjust when not on the wall. [L. Block] and I used a screw driver as a prybar to get a feel for the adjustment (with tension set on very loose).

     "Sturdy Mount" 2010-05-25
By Talent Relations (Los Angeles, CA)
The construction and sturdiness of this mount is great! The only drawback is the adjustment of it. Due to the adjustment knobs, you're not able to adjust it on the wall using the turn knobs but can adjust it by hand then screwing in the fasten screws... This works and is not too much trouble but it would have been nice to make the knobs circular to accommodate this. Also, when you first get a hold of the brackets you'll think they don't tilt. This is no problem as once the TV is mounted it will tilt.

This is my third Peerless and I do recommend them.

This TV mount works well enough,if you can figure it out.The directions are almost useless.I called the factory for directions and the woman I talked to was rude and no help. After enlisting my wife and friends help, we discovered how to mount and operate this mount.

"Very confident in this wall mount" 2010-03-12

Material is high quality, very strong. It was very easy to install on my 52" Samsung LCD. Came with everything I needed and a lot of extra leftover nuts & bolts in case you need them.

     "Good Construction. Poor Design." 2010-01-19
By 1gringofromLA (West Covina, CA United States)
I purchased this item after agonizing over the decision for several weeks. I read numerous reviews on Amazon and other sites and decided on this one because of the high ratings, price and ability to mount across three studs, which I found desirable for added safety, given I was mounting a 55" LCD and have 3 young children.

I found the instructions confusing and I believe the design is poor for the following reasons:

    1) Once the TV is mounted, it is very difficult to reach the safety screws that secure the TV to the wall bracket. You need a long screwdriver, a flashlight, puny hands and ample room under the TV to work.

    2) The handles on either side of the brackets that are supposed to allow you to tilt the angle of the TV are not accessible when the TV is mounted. You must take the TV off the wall, make your adjustment, and then re-hang/secure the TV. In my opinion, this defeats the purpose of having a handle. They may as well have just put a nut/bolt, or some other mechanism.

    3) The tilt range that is indicated in the description is not possible, from my experience thus far. The bracket came already adjusted in a tilt up position. Upon removing the TV once more from the wall and experimenting with the brackets a little more, we found that the bracket is not capable of reaching a tilt-down position. My TV is mounted securely to the wall, but it is perfectly parallel to the wall. I would have preferred a slight tilt-down (5 degrees), but due to the hassle in removing the TV, returning the item, and the only minor annoyance of not having the TV positioned exactly as I had intended, I'll most likely learn to live with it.

Another minor gripe is that the customer service has only regular working hours. As I'm guessing that most do-it-yourself-ers do this sort of project on the weekends, it would be nice if someone were available on Sat and Sun for installation questions.

Finally, my brackets shipped with a pin that prevented any adjustment at all. I had to remove a metal cap to remove the pin, which appeared to be part of the bracket, but having it installed restricted all adjustment. It didn't seem right to have to remove it and the instructions did not mention this, but otherwise, the bracket was unable to adjust.

On a positive note, the brackets do seem to be sturdy, the price was decent compared to other brackets (at your local big box store) of this size and weight capacity , and they included hardware in a nice packet that would probably address most installations.

All in all, and unless I did something completely wrong, or was shipped a lemon/defect, I can not recommend this item.
